Graduate outcome data is one of the most critical metrics for Nigerian higher institutions — required for NUC, NBTE, and NCCE accreditation visits, and essential for demonstrating institutional value. This guide explains how NGCareerPro helps you collect, track, and report on career outcomes automatically.
Why Graduate Outcomes Matter
- Required by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for programme renewal
- Core metric for NBTE polytechnic accreditation visits
- Influences institutional ranking on national and international indices
- Demonstrates return on investment to students, parents, and government funders
- Identifies which departments are producing market-ready graduates
What We Track
Employment Status
Full-time employment, part-time, self-employed, or freelance — with employer name, sector, and location.
Further Education
Postgraduate study, professional certifications, and fellowship programmes in Nigeria and abroad.
NYSC Deployment
State of deployment, employer during NYSC, and post-NYSC employment tracking.
Industry Distribution
Which industries absorb your graduates — finance, tech, health, civil service, education, and more.
How Data is Collected
1. Student self-reporting
Final-year students are prompted to update their outcome on the platform after graduation — employment, further study, or NYSC. The process takes under 2 minutes.
2. Counsellor-assisted updates
Career counsellors can update graduate outcomes in bulk from the dashboard using the Graduate Outcomes module. Data can be imported via CSV for large cohorts.
3. Alumni check-ins
NGCareerPro sends automated check-in emails to graduates at 3 months, 12 months, and 24 months post-graduation — collecting employment status, salary band, and career satisfaction data.
Outcome Reports
NGCareerPro generates three types of outcome reports automatically:
- Annual Graduate Outcome Report — full institutional summary, exported as PDF, ready for accreditation submission
- Faculty/Department Report — broken down by faculty and department with year-on-year comparison
- Real-time Dashboard — live view of student employment rates, industry distribution, and geographic spread
Employability Score
Every student has an Employability Score (0–100) calculated from:
- Career assessments completed (20 pts)
- Career goal set and roadmap active (15 pts)
- Internship or work experience (25 pts)
- Portfolio or project linked (20 pts)
- AI Advisor engagement (10 pts)
- Certification or professional membership (10 pts)
Students below 50 points in their final year are flagged as at-risk and appear in the counsellor's intervention queue.
Benchmarking
On the Standard and Premium plans, your institution's outcome data is benchmarked against anonymised national averages — so you can see how your graduate employment rate compares to similar institutions across Nigeria.
Getting Started
Outcome tracking is activated automatically when your institution onboards. Start by importing your current final-year student list and assigning students to career counsellors.
